A Bug's Life: Some people had Smart Window stopped showing up for them with the last update, this is an emergency fix — if you still have the issue after updating please reach out by sending me an email to rafa@rafa.design
Alright, let's see: · Added a preference to close a Smart Window when clicking anywhere else on the screen; · You can also now close a Smart Window by pressing the Escape key; · Fixed a bug where the Zoom preference wasn't being saved · Improved how I was detecting if the window was not visible on screen (and now I reset its position) · More random fixes here and there
Ok this is an embarrassing one, the first time you picked Smart Window instead of a Popover, it was actually placing the window outside of the bounds of your screen. Yeah, did you know you could do that? You can place a window outside the screen… what? Yeah so this fixes that.
Did you know that you couldn't switch the menu bar icon until you restarted the app? For a moment there I also didn't know, but you can, now!
Do you know how when you closed the Hand Mirror window your camera's light would stay on (that's scary)? Yeah so this update hopefully fixes that. You don't know what I'm talking about? Good, then this update probably won't change anything to you then. Oh also I think I fixed the issue where some preferences would reset after you restarted your Mac (which is good computer hygiene by the way, good on you!) — if not, please send me an email to rafa@rafa.design — thank you!
I can't believe I'm writing this, but the time has finally come… I'm shipping a "Performance and stability improvements" release notes!
‣ Fixed a bug that would only show you a black screen instead of your camera, unless you were in a completely dark room that was not intended behavior. ‣ Fixed a bug that would freeze the picture, unless you would become completely motionless for indefinite periods of time that was not intended behavior. ‣ Fixed a lot of bugs around the Notch Trigger feature. ‣ Hide Menu Bar (beta) Notch Trigger preference will now hide it even if you have an external-non-notch display connected. ‣ Fixed a bug that would reset your preferences, that wasn't nice, I'm sorry. ‣ Improved local logging for debugging ‣ LOTS of improvements around camera sessions and performance.

You wanted Hand Mirror to do more? Good thing for Hand Mirror Plus: A one-time purchase that will unlock all past, present, and future features added to the app, like: ‣ Smart Window: Fully customizable, resizable, positioned window ‣ Window Masks: Zoom, crop, tweak border radius, make your camera view just like you like it ‣ Custom position: Want to trigger the window right below your camera, pick where the window appears ‣ Notch Trigger: If you're on a compatible device, you can click right on the camera housing area to trigger Hand Mirror ‣ Custom App Icons and Menu Bar Icons: Make the Menu Bar icon match your camera and or your taste ‣ Mic Check (COMING SOON): [REDACTED] (every time a new feature is released with Hand Mirror Plus, the price will go up, so this bundle will never be as cheap as NOW). Also in this version: ‣ Complete rewrite of the app, that means it should be way more performant, faster at starting the camera feed, and hopefully less buggy. --- Version 2.1 fixes some bugs like now showing an icon if you were updating from an older version, and adds a little "something" to the About screen.

Now with Center Stage support! All of you lucky owners of an Apple Studio Display can now use Hand Mirror with Center Stage, which you can turn on/off via Control Center.
Mirror, Mirror on the Hand, Who’s the Fairest App Update of Them All? "This one maybe? I don't know", here's what's new: ‣ Custom Keyboard Shortcut: You can now set your own custom keyboard shortcut, I went with "⇧⌥⌃⌘HANDMIRO" just because that's how my hand naturally rests on the keyboard. ‣ Right-click on the icon to trigger the popup menu: no need to open the camera view to access options or to switch inputs. ‣ Bug fixes (I hope): There's this pesky bug that would start the camera in the background, I'm calling that bug "Steven", but I couldn't reliably reproduce it. So just like any other bug infestation, I decided to burn the house down and build another one just to be sure (or refactor all of the code). I hope this fixes it but please let me know if it still happens to you! ("Steve", if you're reading this, I will find you, and I will squish you).
Hand Mirror 1.4 is out! Sorry it took me a while to get to this, but what is time in 2020 anyways, right? Here's what's new: • Support for virtual cameras: Hand Mirror now should work with any virtual camera like SnapCamera, Reincubate Camo, CamTwist, mmhmm, stuff like that… • Mirroring Preference: The app is called hand MIRROR, but sure, you now can turn off video mirroring. • Now if you click on the app icon, and the app is already running, the popover is triggered (helpful for people confused by "menu-bar-only-apps?") • New app icon: Fine, I've updated the icon to feel at home in Big Sur, and yes, you no longer have to look at my face — you're welcome!
• Fixed a bug that would not respect the last selection of preferred camera (we do not tolerate that kind of disrespect here). • On the list of available cameras, you'll now see a little checkmark indicating the one that's active (groundbreaking innovation in software design right here). Thank you so much for the positive reviews — you are all the best!
• You can now detach the window and place it anywhere you'd like (pair it with the "Close popover" preference for an always on view of your camera!). • Show/hide Hand Mirror with the keyboard shortcut: Command + Control + H. • Controls are now only visible when you hover the window. • Bug fixes, because software.
Fixed a bug in where the app wouldn't save your camera preference, always reverting to the first one it found. Programming is hard.
Fixed a crash that would occur when connecting an external display, or letting the display go to sleep when the app was in the foreground.
